FAQ

1 / How much does a tutoring session cost?

Our tutoring sessions are priced at $80 per hour for one-on-one sessions or $110 for a 1.5-hour session. For group sessions lasting 1.5 hours, the cost is $70 per person. Additionally, we offer discounts for bulk purchases of sessions. The pricing may vary depending on the number of sessions purchased in advance. Contact us for more information on discounted rates for multiple session purchases.

2 / What's your Cancellation Policy?

As the tutoring timetable for the week is planned in advance, it’s important to give as much notice as possible if there is a change in circumstances. This allows us to accommodate other students who may be waiting for tutoring sessions. Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours notice, the full session fee will be charged. If a session is canceled with more than 24 hours notice, then a make-up session will be arranged at a mutually agreed convenient time for both parties. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy.

3 / How do I know which tutoring option is best for me, one-on-one sessions or group tutoring?

The best tutoring option depends on your learning style and preferences. If you prefer personalised attention and customised learning, one-on-one sessions may be best. If you enjoy group interaction and collaborative learning in a supportive social environment, group tutoring might suit you better. Consider your comfort level and learning objectives to decide between the two, or contact us so we can give you our best recommendation.

4 / How often should I have tutoring sessions?

This is up to you, however we would recommend having tutoring sessions at least twice a week to maximise your learning progress and maintain momentum. Consistent practice and regular sessions can help reinforce concepts and accelerate your language development. However, the frequency of sessions ultimately depends on your schedule, budget, goals, and preferences.

5 / What will I learn in the sessions?

In our tutoring sessions, you'll learn practical English skills tailored to your needs, including conversational learning, pronunciation, and comprehension for everyday life and work in New Zealand. This could include things such as making appointments, applying for jobs, shopping etc, to help integrate you as best as possible into New Zealand culture and the community. Our interactive approach ensures you gain confidence in real-life situations.

6 / Can I choose the topics or areas I want to focus on?

For our group sessions, there is a more structured curriculum that covers various topics and skills over the course of the sessions. This structured approach allows for cohesive learning experiences and ensures that all participants benefit from the same content. However, you can feel free to make us aware of what you would like to learn and we will do our best to integrate this into the lessons. On the other hand, one-on-one sessions offer more flexibility in terms of content and pacing. With personalised attention from the tutor, you have the freedom to focus on specific areas of interest or address individual learning needs. This flexibility allows for a more tailored learning experience that is tailored to your unique goals and preferences.
